Blowup

Not serious… just a game.

According to Stephen Shore, the perception of a photograph on a visual level is determined by its properties such as plane, frame, time and focus. These are all parameters we try to control while taking a picture to get certain shots. What if we changed all these properties after the shot, not by referring to reality, but to previously taken photos, of which there are a huge number in the world. To make a repeated shot within the existing frames? Can we get new meanings? To see something previously unseen, hidden within the frames?

By changing the framing, I tried to change the focus of attention within the frames, to see something new that was away from the main story. At the same time, I was doing this at a certain moment, in a certain emotional state, which largely determined the choice of attention and focus-what to look at and what to magnify in the frame. At another moment, in a different state of mind, the choice might have changed, as might the meanings displayed.
